About The Festival

Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festival is produced by Alliance of Women Filmmakers (AWF). Alliance of Women Filmmakers’ mission is to empower women filmmakers to make culturally diverse contributions through film to Los Angeles Communities, as well as educate and inform audiences of social, political and health issues impacting women globally.

The festival, now in its tenth year presents feature and short length narratives, documentaries and animation films made by women from around the world. The festival’s programming reflects AWF’s mission to educate and inform audiences of social, political, and health issues impacting women globally. Each year, AWF partners with an organization to help generate awareness and raise money to support women’s causes. AWF’s 2013 partner is The American Heart Association. For each festival ticket sold $1 will be donated to The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Campaign.
